NOTE:

What was started in the 1970’s as Paper Mountain, evolved into what is today Foundry Books Inc.- which has been part of Mineral Point for over 30 yrs.

Jim & Gayle were part of U.W. Platteville community & faculty for many years. Due to ill health, it has become necessary to sell the building & the inventory of the bookstore.

In addition, a very lg. personal collection of books, art, pottery, paintings & furniture will be sold. A wonderful opportunity to acquire the finest of collectibles!!

It will be impossible to adequately list all that will be sold. We encourage you to study photos carefully & we will be adding more as discoveries are made.

The entire inventory of Foundry Books Store will be sold– Again please study photos. Thousands of books: topics so numerous it is impossible to list entirely.

Included will be early Wisconsin material of all types: Histories of cities, counties and the state. Biographies, books by famous authors incl many August Derleth, Geology, County atlases and Plat books. 100s of maps. Civil War,Institutions & Organizations, Agricultural, Mining, Ethnic History, Native Americana, Frank Lloyd Wright, General Architecture, Railroad etc etc.

Thousands of children’s books. Every subject imaginable. Included in the auction will be their personal collection of more than 400 pop up books and over 600 ABC books. Also, more than 150 early Laura Rountree Smith books and related ephemera incl autographs- never before available.

Other book store subjects include Gardening, Birds, Nature, Art Cookbooks, Books about Books, and many many others. The Poetry Section will include many Haiku subjects. Jim and Gayle were first to publish a periodical devoted to English Language Haiku poetry.
